Destination by destination: what 4 weeks cost in 2027
For each destination, the cheapest price among its schools with 2027 prices: full-time General English course (15 to 30 lessons a week) and host family in a single room with half board. «Course + host family» adds your price on LanguageBookings, registration, compulsory materials and 4 weeks of host family with the placement fee, at the same school. Destinations from cheapest to most expensive; euros at the exchange rate of 19 October 2026 for British schools.

Malta, Ireland or the UK?
The cheapest 4 weeks of course and host family, with all fees, in each country:

- Malta: €1,896 in Pembroke (AClass Academy of English).

- Look at afternoon courses: at Speak Up London, 4 weeks in the afternoon cost £756 against £1,120 in the morning; at Celtic English Academy, £1,000 against £1,380.
- Compare price per hour, not per week: among the courses in the table it ranges from €10.00 to €33.32 per hour of class.
- Choose the school before the city: in London, the cheapest full-time course costs ≈ €900 and the most expensive ≈ €1,790.
- Stay longer: at inlingua Malta, the weekly price falls from €220 (4 weeks) to €150 (12 weeks).
- Book through LanguageBookings: you get our discount on the course, you pay nothing upfront (your card is only authorised for the deposit, which is charged when the school confirms; the rest you pay to the school), and if you find the same course cheaper under the same conditions, we match the price.
Frequently asked questions
Where is it cheapest to study English in Europe in 2027?
Among the 38 schools with 2027 prices, the cheapest 4 weeks of course and host family, with all fees, are in Dublin (€1,706 with Twin's −40% offer), Malta (€1,896) and Tralee (€1,945). The most expensive destination is Oxford (from €2,922).
Is Malta cheaper than Ireland?
It depends on the school more than on the country. The cheapest 4-week course is €600 in Ireland (ISE Ireland) and €740 in Malta (AClass Academy of English); with host family and fees, from €1,706 with Twin's −40% offer in Ireland and €1,896 in Malta.
Do I need a visa?
Ireland and Malta are in the EU, so EU citizens can study there without a visa. For the UK, most nationalities can take an English course of up to 6 months as a visitor, and EU citizens need an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) before travelling. Other nationalities: check the official immigration website of each country (gov.uk, irishimmigration.ie…) before booking.
Why are some courses cheaper per week but not per hour?
Because schools count lessons differently: a «lesson» lasts 40 minutes at some schools and 60 at others, and a full-time course can have 15 or 20 lessons. That is why the table shows lessons × length and the price per hour.
